The Craftathon Committee is responsible for making Craftathon happen. Specific activities include:
The following Committee positions are available:
Sponsorship Lead – This person will contact businesses and organizations to secure sponsorships for food, beverages, craft supplies, and other in-kind and monetary donations. The Sponsorship Lead will send out sponsorship info sheets, cold-call businesses, and maintain communication with potential and confirmed sponsors. Experience in fundraising or sponsorships is an asset; excellent communication skills are required.
Social Media Lead – This person will create social media promotional items for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter using past Craftathon photos and graphics. Regular internet access and creativity are required for this position!
Crafter Support Lead – This person(s) will support team captains and individual fundraisers with their own fundraising. This would include answering questions and sending out messages with tips, tricks, and encouragement to those participating in the Craftathon.
Logistics Lead – Are you super organized and enjoy making lists and spreadsheets? This position may be for you! We’re looking for a detail-oriented individual who is great working on their own and with the Committee to ensure that the day runs smoothly. The Logistics Lead will coordinate the venue, volunteers, decorations, supply runs, and registration table.
You – Are you unsure where you might fit in? Do you still want to help out? We’re interested in working with anyone who is eager to support LGBT Youth Line!
If you feel like Craftathon would be a good fit for your skill set, send us an email with the role you are interested in, the skills you have to offer for that role, and why you’re interested. Even if you’re uncertain of what role you’re interested in or have ideas of how you could contribute, get in touch and let us know! This committee is open to 2SLGBTQ youth and non-youth in the Toronto area. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Resume and cover letter are not necessary.
