Imagine a night of cocktails, hors' d'oeuvres and a few new art pieces under your arm! Every year, the Lesbian Gay Bi Trans Youth Line puts together the exciting Line Art auction, an event that showcases artworks generously donated by established artists. Recent supporters have included Cecelia Berkovic, Ginger Brooks Takahashi, Wendy Coburn, Kim Dorland, Andy Fabo, Paige Graitland, April Hickox, G.B. Jones, Terrence Koh, Nina Levitt, Micah Lexier, Ed Pien and Steve Reinke. Line Art is unique in many ways from most charity art auctions. Not only do we present the beautiful work of well-known, senior artists but we also showcase the work of amazing youth and emerging artists. Staying true to the Youth Line’s Mission and Values, this is one more way we create opportunities for LGBT Youth. Featuring the artwork of youth and emerging artists is by far one of the most exciting parts of the Line Art auction.
Another unique aspect of Line Art is that there is no ticket price for admission. Again, staying true to our Mission and Values, we want our events to be accessible to all, and this evening of fabulous art, entertainment and ambiance is no exception.
The Line Art auction has traveled to many venues over the years such as A-Space, the Spin Gallery and the Art Gallery of Ontario. Line Art continues to grow, and this dynamic event becomes more exciting year after year.
