Board of Directors


What we’re looking for

Because of our commitment to youth community engagement, we are looking for youth members (18-29) and non-youth members (29+) to be a part of our Board of Directors.

Interested candidates should expect to commit at least 15 to 20 hours per month to Youth Line matters over a 2-year term.  Please note that the number of hours per month may vary depending on each person’s level of involvement in Board activities.


We are also looking for those with existing skills or a strong interest in building experience in the following areas:

  • Financial management
  • Fundraising (event planning, brainstorming, marketing, etc.)
  • Youth leadership development
  • Policy development
  • Human Resources knowledge
  • Governance
  • Public relations, media, and graphic design
  • Event planning and event support



What to Include in the Application:

  4. Cover letter/introduction detailing why you are interested in being a Board Member of the LGBT Youth Line.


  1. A one-page statement explaining your thoughts on the challenges that face 2SLGBTQ youth today.


The LGBT Youth Line only considers applicants that identify as part of the 2SLGBTQ community. Grounded in principles of Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression, we recognize and encourage applications from communities that are further marginalized in employment opportunities, including: Indigenous people, people of African/Caribbean/Black descent, people of colour, Trans-feminine people, people living with disabilities, people with experiences of migration, and people who have experiences of poverty. We particularly welcome applicants from these communities who are youth (18 to 29). Applicants are encouraged to self-identify in their cover letters or one-page statements, which will be kept confidential.
