Craftathon is our annual fundraiser where participants raise funds for LGBT YouthLine by attending a day full of crafts and crafting workshops.
Missed last year’s craftathon? Here’s what happened!
We’re looking for experienced crafters who’d like to volunteer to facilitate a craft of their choice – either as a full-day craft or as a workshop!
We’ll supply the space and materials; you provide the teaching! Ideally, this craft should take no more than 1 to 2 hours to complete and be something crafters can take home with them or continue at home. In the past, we have had paper crafts, screen-printing, and pennant-making, so we’re open to anything you can think of!
We will also provide you with volunteers during the event to help with breaks and any other assistance that you may need on the day.
Why lead a craft table:
Full Day (11am to 5pm): Craft Table Leads who participate for the full day will have a craft table/area (depending on type of craft) dedicated for their craft where Craftathon participants can stop by throughout the day.
Workshop (1-2 hours): Craft Table Leads who opt for a workshop-style craft can hold one or more workshops at set times during the day.
Our Craftathon Committee will provide you with volunteers during the event to help with breaks and any other assistance that you may need on the day.
We will also communicate, and support Craft Table Leads in the weeks leading up to the event to finalize materials and crafting supply needs.
We are working to make our event accessible to everyone who is interested in attending, as a Craft Table Lead or a participant. Please note the following accessibility features of the event:
Please let us know if there is something you need to access the event that we haven’t already thought of – we’ll do our best to accommodate!
