NOT A 2SLGBTQ+ SPECIFIC RESOURCE
The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Sudbury/Manitoulin branch is mandated to provide services to individuals with mental health issues or a diagnosis of a mental illness (though it is not required) within the Sudbury and Manitoulin districts. Our mission is to provide services that promote recovery for all and mental health education. We believe in helping people regain a meaningful role in their community.
Programs include:
- Here2Help (mental health and wellness support)
- Clinical Program (case management and referrals)
- Healing with Hope (support program for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness and alcohol dependence)
- Housing Case Management
- Emergency and Transitional Housing
- Justice Program (support individuals with mental health and/or addiction concerns involved in the criminal justice system)

LGBTQ Counselling Program — short term individual, couple and group counselling for individuals identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans or queer * broad range of issues including coming out, sexuality and identity, isolation, discrimination, relationship concerns, parenting, self esteem, violence, sexual abuse and childhood trauma, counselling for male survivors of sexual abuse, and other issues
HIV/AIDS Counselling Program — short and long term counselling for individuals, couples and families living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, particularly gay and bisexual men, and men who have sex with men (MSM) * issues include dealing with loss, relationships, self esteem, trauma, self care, planning for healthy living, changing health status and impact on sexuality
2STNB+ Connect Peer Support Group — virtual peer support group which welcomes youth (age 16-29) across the gender identity spectrum to meet and connect with others in their community, explore their identities, and create meaningful relationships. The group provides a friendly and non-judgemental space for 2STNB+ youth at all different stages on their gender journey to socialize and discuss a wide range of issues; from social and medical transition, to family, to school, as well as to share interests.

Doin’ It, Thrive
Doin’ It is an inclusive and non-judgmental sexual health resource for youth (12-29) in the Waterloo Region. Our programming aims to empower youth to manage their sexual health by developing skills, increasing self-efficacy, and improving access to resources.
Anonymous Text-line
Youth and service providers who work with youth are welcome to use our anonymous text service to ask questions about sex, sexual health, relationships, identity, and attraction. Just text us at 519-569-9521 Monday-Friday from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. We do our best to respond within 1-2 business days!
YSHAG (Youth Sexual Health Action Group)
We support YSHAG (Youth Sexual Health Action Group), a working group that strives to create safer spaces and foster open dialogue about relationships and sexual health, in particular for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth in Waterloo region.

EAST QREW, Strides Toronto
Calling All LGBTQQIP2SAA+ Youth aged 12 – 24! Join EAST QREW – a queer and trans drop-in youth program offering interactive activities including arts, games, music, discussion and guest speakers.
EAST QREW brings youth together in a safe and supportive environment where they can connect to others who have similar experiences and offer a supportive community.
The group is a place to engage in discussions, and receive support from staff and peers, including occasional workshops that focus on improving mental health, stress reduction and increasing life skills. The goal of the group is to have participants feel safe, feel better about themselves and develop a wider social support network through peer connection.

Gender Affirming Services, Reseau ACCESS Network
The gender affirming service clinic offers low barrier gender affirming services to transgender and gender non-conforming people. This includes HRT, referrals to gender affirming surgeries, one-on-one supportive counselling and education, HIV and STBBI testing, harm reduction and other services.
