Free Brief Counselling for Youth, Get Real

Region Served: All of Ontario | Languages: English | Ages Served: 18 and Under

In partnership with United Way and Red Cross, The Get REAL Movement has developed a new program to connect 2SLGBTQ+ youth with affirming counselling services. Eligible participants will receive six virtual counselling sessions with a trans-identified Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW), at no cost to them. They will need to have access to a device and connection to have their sessions through.

Participants are Ontario youth who self identify as members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, or are questioning their gender identity and/or sexual orientation. They could be looking for support around identity, coming out, family, anxiety, mood, stress, academics, social worry, etc. If this limited-session program is not deemed to be an appropriate fit, the social workers will recommend and refer to alternative options wherever possible.

If there is a large amount of interest in the limited number of spots, priority will be given to youth facing additional barriers to supports and services, including youth who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour, those unable to pay for counselling services, or youth without affirming supports in their region.

We are so excited to be able to support our communities in this new way. For more information or to apply to access counselling, please email SocialWork@thegetrealmovement.com
