David Kelley LGBTQ and HIV AIDS Counselling Services
LGBTQ Counselling Program — short term individual, couple and group counselling for individuals identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans or queer * broad range of issues including coming out, sexuality and identity, isolation, discrimination, relationship concerns, parenting, self esteem, violence, sexual abuse and childhood trauma, counselling for male survivors of sexual abuse, and other issues
HIV/AIDS Counselling Program — short and long term counselling for individuals, couples and families living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, particularly gay and bisexual men, and men who have sex with men (MSM) * issues include dealing with loss, relationships, self esteem, trauma, self care, planning for healthy living, changing health status and impact on sexuality
2STNB+ Connect Peer Support Group — virtual peer support group which welcomes youth (age 16-29) across the gender identity spectrum to meet and connect with others in their community, explore their identities, and create meaningful relationships. The group provides a friendly and non-judgemental space for 2STNB+ youth at all different stages on their gender journey to socialize and discuss a wide range of issues; from social and medical transition, to family, to school, as well as to share interests.

Doin’ It, Thrive
Doin’ It is an inclusive and non-judgmental sexual health resource for youth (12-29) in the Waterloo Region. Our programming aims to empower youth to manage their sexual health by developing skills, increasing self-efficacy, and improving access to resources.

Youth and service providers who work with youth are welcome to use our anonymous text service to ask questions about sex, sexual health, relationships, identity, and attraction. Just text us at 519-569-9521 Monday-Friday from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. We do our best to respond within 1-2 business days!
YSHAG (Youth Sexual Health Action Group)
We support YSHAG (Youth Sexual Health Action Group), a working group that strives to create safer spaces and foster open dialogue about relationships and sexual health, in particular for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth in Waterloo region.

Gender Affirming Services, Reseau ACCESS Network
The gender affirming service clinic offers low barrier gender affirming services to transgender and gender non-conforming people. This includes HRT, referrals to gender affirming surgeries, one-on-one supportive counselling and education, HIV and STBBI testing, harm reduction and other services.

Gilbert Centre
The Gilbert Centre provides social and support services to empower, promote health, and celebrate the lives of people living with and affected by HIV and other sexually transmitted or blood borne infections (STBBIs) and the individuals and families from the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) communities of Simcoe Muskoka.
- QT Youth Connection provides social programming and systems navigation for 2S-LGBTQ+ youth aged 12-30. In-person groups take place in Barrie, Midland, and Stayner.
- Rama Two-Spirit Group for two-spirited and queer and trans Rama band members
- LGBTQ+ Newcomer Night for LGBTQ+ newcomers to Canada and allies
- QT Discord server is a monitored virtual social space for 2S-LGBTQIA+ youth ages 13-19 to connect with peers and staff
- GenQ is a drop-in social space for 2S-LGBTQIA+ folks aged 20-29 held in Barrie

Haliburton County Youth Wellness Hub

Haliburton County Youth Wellness Hub – providing an inclusive and welcoming space for all youth aged 12-25 in our community.
The Haliburton County Youth Wellness Hub has been co-created with Haliburton County youth. Many community services have come together with leadership from Point In Time and Haliburton Highlands Health Services to support youth in developing this collaborative, multi-use space.
Services and Supports available at the Youth Hub include:
-mental health & addictions
-peer support
-primary care, sexual health, and trans positive health care
-care coordination
-employment & vocational supports, including The Lift Program (Individual Placement and Support)
-income supports & housing help
-other responsive services as needs arise
Drop-in and other programs build resilience, protective factors and give youth a place to belong and to call their own. These integrated resources provide quick and timely access to a broad range of supports.

Hassle Free Clinic
THIS IS A GENDERED SPACE
Hassle Free Clinic is a community-based clinic providing medical and counselling services in all areas of sexual health. It is the largest anonymous HIV test site in Canada, and is one of the country’s busiest sexually transmitted infection (STI) clinics. The clinic strives to maintain an informal atmosphere, delivering services in a timely, non-bureaucratic manner. A fundamental principle of service delivery is a non-judgemental, supportive attitude to the treatment of sexual health concerns. The women/trans clinic provides birth control, pregnancy testing, abortion referrals, STI and HIV testing and counselling and other services related to sexual and reproductive health.
