LGBT YouthLine is happy to announce the release of our 2024/2025 Annual Report!

2024 was YouthLine’s 30th anniversary. Let’s take this opportunity to celebrate three decades of history as we continue to help support 2SLGBTQ+ youth across the province!

Volunteers are a critical part of this organization. All of our volunteers are 2SLGBTQ+ youth aged 16-29, living across Ontario. Over the past year, YouthLine had 66 active volunteers. During that time, they helped provided peer support to over 2400 young people throughout the province. 26% of HelpLine users were under 15, while 35% were between 22 and 29.

YouthLine is continuing to expand our outreach initiatives. In the past year, we attended 24 Pride events. Our digital presence continues to grow as well, reaching over 200 young people through virtual events like our teach-in series. We worked to increase awareness of our services across northern, rural, remote, and Indigenous communities in Ontario by strengthening visibility, building relationships, and sharing resources and materials. YouthLine expanded our advocacy efforts as well, launching the Write for Student Rights in July 2024.

In honour of our 30th anniversary, we hosted ‘Dialing In: An intergenerational panel series celebrating 30 years of community connections’. Panels took place in cities across Ontario including Toronto, Ottawa, London, and Sudbury. They brought together staff, board members and alumni from throughout YouthLine’s history.

As we reflect on the successes of the past year, we look forward to continuing to provide vital services for 2SLGBTQ+ youth across the province. Here’s to another 30 years of YouthLine!
