Since 1987, ACCKWA has provided HIV support and prevention services in the Waterloo Region. We provide support to people living with HIV, community development services, education and outreach to key populations, clinical services, and a needle-syringe program.

Embrave – Agency to End Violence is an anti-violence organization providing shelter, counselling and advocacy supports for women, Two-Spirit, gender queer, trans and non-binary folks and their children experiencing any form of violence in the Region of Peel and beyond. We provide supports and services to survivors with or without children.

We understand that survivors’ experiences of violence are compounded by intersecting forms of racism and oppression. Embrave is a low barrier organization that is committed to ending gender-based violence by acknowledging and addressing the multitude of barriers facing folks who have experienced violence and by providing crisis intervention and a range of supports and services.

Embrave’s definition of gender-based violence includes intimate partner violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment, cyber violence; physical, emotional and financial violence; stalking; structural and systemic violence, such as racism, colonialism, classism, transphobia, homophobia, sanism, islamophobia, nationalism and ableism.

Hassle Free Clinic is a community-based clinic providing medical and counselling services in all areas of sexual health. It is the largest anonymous HIV test site in Canada, and is one of the country’s busiest sexually transmitted infection (STI) clinics. The clinic strives to maintain an informal atmosphere, delivering services in a timely, non-bureaucratic manner. A fundamental principle of service delivery is a non-judgemental, supportive attitude to the treatment of sexual health concerns. The women/trans clinic provides birth control, pregnancy testing, abortion referrals, STI and HIV testing and counselling and other services related to sexual and reproductive health.

Men’s Program
Counselling is for men 18 and older on an individual basis. Appointments can be booked over the phone or by email. Counselling is confidential and free. We can also do hospital, police, and court accompaniments.

Women’s Counselling
Counselling is for women 14+ individually. There’s a young women’s program for ages 14-18, and an adult women’s program for those 18+. Appointments can be booked over the phone or by email. Counselling is confidential and free. We can also do hospital, police, and court accompaniments.

Taylor the Turtle
Taylor the Turtle is a sexual abuse prevention program for children. It teaches them their rights surrounding their bodies and how to handle situations when they do not feel safe. Taylor the Turtle is a program that can be run by staff. It consists of a presentation and a workshop.

Toronto Bi+ Network provides a community where bisexuals, pansexuals, omnisexual, fluid and other non-monosexual people, as well as people questioning their sexuality, can share diverse perspectives on bi+ issues and experiences. We offer peer-support, a social network, information and resources.
