Timmins Youth Wellness Hub

The Timmins Youth Wellness Hub (TYWH) is a safe, inclusive and welcoming space for all youth aged 12-25 to access mental health, addictions and wellbeing services, resources and support. The TYWH is part of a network of Hubs, called Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario (YWHO). YWHO is an initiative that aims to bring the right services to youth and their families, at the right time and in the right place.

In September 2018, the Timmins Youth Wellness Hub was established to provide programs and services (in English and in French) that support the wellbeing of youth aged 12-25 in the community.

The Timmins Youth Wellness Hub hosts a monthly support group for 2SLGBTQ+ youth. Information about this is posted on their social media pages and website.

Toby’s Place

Toby’s Place is a 2SLGBTQ+ drop-in centre for youth ages 13-20 located in South Scarborough. We are an anti-oppressive space who’s mission is to reduce social isolation among 2SLGBTQ+ youth. We provide free workshops, dinner, activities, and peer counselling. We also provide practical supports such as a food bank, clothing boutique, and shower facilities. We have a resource hub onsite and provide referrals when needed.

The Trans Health Program supports trans and gender diverse folks ages 17 and up who are residents of Ottawa and the Champlain Region. We work from a gender-affirming and informed consent approach which meets the standards in the Sherbourne Health Guideline for Gender-Affirming Primary Care. The Gender Affirmative services we offer include:

  • Hormone Starts
  • Surgery referrals
  • Counselling
  • Gender Journeys (17+ virtual peer support group)

No-cost group, community, and individual supports are available for folks ages 16+ who identify as trans/non-binary or are questioning their gender.
