Canadian Mental Health Association, Sudbury and Manitoulin
The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Sudbury/Manitoulin branch was established in 1984 and is a not-for-profit organization with a volunteer board of directors.
The branch is mandated to provide services to individuals with mental health issues or a diagnosis of a mental illness (though it is not required) within the Sudbury and Manitoulin districts. Our mission is to provide services that promote recovery for all and mental health education. We believe in helping people regain a meaningful role in their community.
CMHA is primarily funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and also receives funds from the Ministry of Child & Youth Services and the City of Sudbury.

Canadian Parents of Trans and Gender Diverse Kids, Parents canadien d’enfants trans
Canadian Parents of Trans & Gender Diverse Kids is a support group for parents and guardians of gender diverse children, youth, and adults, including those who are two-spirit, transgender, genderqueer, non-binary, agender, gender fluid, gender creative, or gender-questioning!
Parents canadiens d’enfants trans est d’un groupe d’entraide pour les parents/les tuteurs d’enfants, de jeunes, et d’adultes de divers genres: bispirituels, transgenres, non-binaires, créatifs dans le genre, ou qui se questionnent sur le genre.
This group is focused on non-judgemental support and information sharing. This is a ‘secret’ group, which means that membership is completely secret – only other members know who is part of this group, and only members can see what is posted. In order to maintain a safe place for everyone, members are asked to keep confidential any identifying details, including photos, shared in this group.

This group provides a safe space for youth aged 12 to 25 to connect with other youth of the LGBT2SQ+ community on a monthly basis. Hosted by our Peer Support Workers assisted by a partner clinician, youth can enjoy games, activities and a place to hang out.

CUSA Gender and Sexuality Resource Centre
The Gender and Sexuality Resource Centre (GSRC) is a safe(r) space for folks wishing to connect with queer and trans community, and we provide support for Carleton students and the broader Ottawa community alike! We provide peer support, referrals to community resources, educational workshops, free events, and material resources: Menstrual supplies, safe(r) sex supplies, and access to over 1000 books in our queer library! The GSRC is operating virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic, and our drop-in social space on Carleton University’s campus is temporarily closed for the health and safety of our community.

THIS SERVICE IS NON-QUEER, TRANS & LGBTQ SPECIFIC
Our 408-HELP (4357) line provides telephone support to individuals in the community who are at risk and their most vulnerable. Highly-trained volunteer responders (with the support of professional staff) connect with callers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our team provides callers with emotional support and crisis intervention when they are socially isolated, marginalized, struggling with chronic mental health problems, in distress, attempting to navigate family violence or in need of emergency response or suicide prevention + intervention + postvention.
Our 408-HELP (4357) line provides:

– PHONE AND TEXT SUPPORT FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE IN CRISIS AND/OR SUICIDAL
The Canada Suicide Prevention Service (CSPS) is a national, dedicated crisis and suicide phone and text service. Live Phone and Text is a safe, confidential, one-on-one conversation with a highly-trained empathic responder. The CSPS Text services is available to anyone and is a good option if you’re not comfortable using the phone. Our text service allows you to take your time to process what you want to say, work through how you are feeling, and communicate with privacy in a way that is comfortable for you or where others cannot overhear you.
Our responders are available to support you regarding all issues related to crisis and/or suicidal thoughts. We are here to help! Our service is confidential and the name you offer can be an alias.
HOW TO CONNECT VIA TEXT AND PHONE
Text is available from your mobile phone from 4:00 pm to 12 midnight daily and is accessed by dialing 45645. You will need to complete a pre-chat survey and agree to terms and conditions of service and a responder will be available to you. Please remember to complete the post-text survey as well. UforChange provides you with the opportunity to nurture your creative passions by choosing one of three creative streams taught by some of Toronto’s most talented artists. What’s more, you will have the chance to collaborate with other creative people, participate in a series of original creative classes and have real field opportunities. You will get to work on real film sets, DJ at events and walk in fashion shows put on by UforChange or our partners.
The creative stream is for young people ages 16-29 who are dedicated, hard working and looking to enhance their creativity.
