Alliances for Solidarity – IDAHOTB2018

This year on the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia we celebrate the theme of “Alliances for Solidarity”. We at LGBT Youth Line encourage everyone to think about the full lives of 2SLGBTQ youth. In this spirit we encourage you to ask questions and get involved in the upcoming Ontario provincial election to ensure that the issues that impact the lives of Queer, Trans, Two-Spirit youth are prioritized so that those with multiple marginalizing realities can feel held, seen and valued in our communities. Some of these issues may include:

• housing
• gender based violence
• poverty
• transportation
•  education
• childcare

Coalitions such as Ontario Thrive and Ontario For All are trying to bring all provincial parties to task by highlighting some of the key social and political areas that are neglected and need government support.

Get involved in your local election by:

• finding out what riding you’re in
• asking your candidates questions about the issues that matter to you
• get out to vote at advanced polls
