Curiosity Healed the Cat:
Building Somatic Awareness and Skills with Nazbah
In this workshop, participants will learn about how we have organized ourselves to navigate the world.
We will learn about safety shaping, contractions, conditioned tendencies, and practice a couple of somatic skills to support building our awareness of how our bodies have taken care of us.
Holding Boundaries and Having Hard Conversations with Chloe
A multilayered conversation on consent including consent amongst friends & more. We’ll learn how to initiate & hold space for hard conversations, as well as what it means to practice self-advocacy.
Creative Writing Re-Imagined with Chloe
In this workshop, we’ll re-define our understanding of creative writing, as well as learning some foundational literary tools. We’ll also discuss our imagination and daydreams as part of our intelligence, and as a way to incorporate visualization into our creative process.
Trans and Gender Diverse Group
Thursdays, 6pm – 8pm EST
Painting Outside the Lines with Afi
Creativity is a beautiful way to support your mental health. With all that is going on in the world, having healthy outlets to express yourself are so important. In these workshops, we will paint outside the lines, get grounded, explore our emotions and affirm ourselves.
No art experience necessary, all materials will be provided
Somatic Practices for Finding your Power with Ronnie
“When we feel, we heal.”
This workshop will give participants a basic understanding of trauma theory, an introduction to somatic approaches to healing and recovery, and an opportunity to practice skills from an embodied position.
Boundaries: Edges, Limits, and Possibilities with Ronnie
Boundaries tell the people around us, “This is the distance I need in order to feel safe enough to connect.” This workshop explores boundaries from the perspective that boundaries are relationship-preservers rather than relationship-enders.
Both the BIPOC and the Trans and Gender Diverse Group will participate in an active listening workshop, which will focus on hands-on tips & tricks of active listening, based on LGBT YouthLine’s very own Active Listening 101 training!
There will be space to practice skills including reflection, validation, and asking questions.
