PYAP 2019/2020 Wrap up

The Provincial Youth Ambassador Project 2019/2020 cohort has sadly come to an end. We had such an amazing year, and are so incredibly proud of the Youth Ambassadors, and all of the work they have done to support and amplify the needs of 2SLGBTQ+ communities across Ontario.

Check out the highlights from PYAP 19/20:

April 2019

18 Youth Ambassadors are selected from across the province to be part of the Provincial Youth Ambassador Project.

May 2019

Youth Ambassadors spend a weekend together in Stouffville building leadership skills, and more importantly, building community <3

June – August 2019

Youth Ambassadors support LGBT YouthLine in attending over 50 Pride celebrations throughout the province! YA’s provided information to all Pride goers about the supports that LGBT YouthLine offers! For many YA’s, this was their first time attending Pride festivals <3

July – October 2019

The PYAP launches the 2SLGBTQ+ Provincial Needs Assessment, and is able to gather responses from almost 1,200 2SLGBTQ+ youth!

September 2019 – January 2020

The PYAP Team codes and analyzes all the responses from the Provincial Needs Assessment and writes 6 reports from the responses, including 1 Summary Report, and 5 Snapshot Reports highlighting communities that are most-often made invisible: Indigenous Youth, Northern Youth, Youth Under 18, Trans+ Youth, and Racialized Youth.
