We are seeking a thoughtful, supportive, passionate, and collaborative individual to join the Youth Line team as our Service Coordinator. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone with community development and volunteer management skills to directly impact thousands of LGBTQ2S youth in Ontario. Under the direction of the Executive Director, working closely with shift supervisors and the Outreach Coordinator, the Service Coordinator provides leadership and ongoing direction to ensure that Youth Line’s peer support service actualizes the organizations Mission and Values.

 

Permanent – Full Time
$40,000

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the peer support service ensuring technology and other aspects of the program are functioning adequately.
  • Coordination of peer support volunteers including: recruitment, selection and training; orientation and feedback; scheduling and supervision; support and retention; and ongoing appreciation and socials.
  • Encourage continual learning and mutual support between volunteers on shifts and through ongoing trainings and debriefs.
  • Oversee scheduling, monthly meetings and ongoing communication with shift supervisors.
  • Identify emerging needs and trends and make recommendations for program development.
  • Support the Outreach Coordinator to create strategies to conduct outreach across Ontario.
  • Support the Outreach Coordinator with maintenance and growth of the resource and referral database.
  • Liaise with community partners and maintain positive community relationships.
  • Contribute to program planning including work planning, budgeting and evaluation.
  • Prepare narrative and statistical reports on a regular basis.
  • Contribute to program and organizational planning including work plans, budgets, and reports to funders.
  • Participate in Youth Line meetings and events, as requested.
